NOTRE-DAME DE PARIS
Haute création
A TIMELESS ICON
Built between 1163 and 1345, Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral is a masterpiece of Gothic architecture located in the heart of Paris, on the Île de la Cité.
Dedicated to the Virgin Mary, it has been a major venue for the great ceremonies of French history, including the coronation of Napoleon in 1804, royal celebrations, and numerous important religious events.
For the French, Notre-Dame de Paris is much more than a religious monument. It is a symbol of national history, a witness to the great moments in French history, and it embodies the country’s cultural identity and architectural heritage.
Its role in historical and literary accounts also makes it an emblem of French heritage.

GREAT ROSACE WINDOW
Representing much more than simple objects, the pieces of the Notre-Dame de Paris collection embody an artistic spirit that pays tribute to culture and history.
The Ligne 2 lighter is set on a vermeil base, resembling an altar, and echoes the stained glass of the cathedral’s rose window in the bright, enchanting colours of blue and turquoise.
The rose window is finely reproduced using blue chalcedony and lapis lazuli, accentuating the artistic and sacred aspect of the piece.
The base features motifs that mimic cathedral floor tiles, giving the piece exceptional depth and visual richness. On the back of the lighter, a gargoyle emerges from the grey-white calcite, adding a dimension of stone sculpture to S.T. Dupont craftsmanship.

The vermeil details and coloured stones add a special, even mystical sparkle to the piece, serving as a real tribute to Parisian architecture.

THE FORECOURT
After five long years of work, the cathedral will finally reopen its doors.
Given the event’s magnitude, we felt it was our duty to honour it, so the Notre-Dame de Paris collection also includes two goldsmith creations.
Firstly, the lighter, enhanced by a bronze base with a patina effect, is designed to reproduce the famous façade of Notre-Dame de Paris.
Magnificently coloured and reminiscent of the cathedral’s original rose glass windows.

THE GARGOYLES
Then, a new goldsmith masterpiece: another writing instrument in the shape of the cathedral’s spire achieves a rare level of detail. A fine blend of coloured stained glass and silver, this piece combines grandeur and precision, making the writing instrument a tribute to the architecture and spirituality of Notre-Dame.
Both the goldsmith lighter and the writing instrument bases feature four gargoyles, often interpreted as the cathedral’s protective guardians. Their main role is to channel rainwater from the roofs away from the walls to prevent erosion and damage to the structure.
The quality of the craftsmanship and the attention to detail in each element make these creations unique and destined for collectors and connoisseurs of exceptional pieces.
